Standing in the streetlight as the fog clears, his face hidden between his hat and the upturned collar of his trench coat is improviser and storyteller, Dave Morris. He’s come to teach you all about one of the most recognizable styles in all of improv: Film Noir. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create scenes with crisp and witty dialogue, full of metaphor and irony. How to tell stories with twists and turns, and a plot that thickens. And maybe even how to be an intellectual in a sea of grey morality…
At the end of the course, there will be an online FILM NOIR SHOWCASE, open to all the film noir students who want to participate!
What you’ll learn
How to imrovise a film noir fit for the online age!
All the tropes of the film noir genre and how to apply them to improv, including the iconic monologues
Who this is for
This is a short course we’re running in place of our normal courses, during the continued lockdown. Our normal in person courses will resume where they left off, as soon as we’re able to reopen our venue.
This class is aimed at improvisers who have a grounding in scene work and are interested in this particular genre. If you have any questions, then do get in touch!
