Hello WORLD, we’re ImproBubble!

What unites all ImproBubblers, students, teachers and performers alike is a love for this powerful art form, where we get on stage without a plan and let a story ‘emerge’, in the moment. But we’re also firm believers that the art of improv is so much more than a magical stage experience. That’s why we’re on a mission to bring the art of improvisation in all its forms to Brussels … and beyond.

How we started | Bringing the art of improvisation to the EuroBubble

It all started with a dream Kelly had, to broaden the range of improvisation on offer for Brussels’ thriving international scene. With that in mind, she founded ImproBubble in 2017 with one class of 14 enthusiastic students and a brilliant co-teacher, Ben. In the year that followed, Rozana also moved to Brussels from Romania and soon joined the teaching fold and the nascent professional cast of ImproBubble.

World renown improvisers soon started adding a stop in Brussels to teach masterclasses to our students and play with a talented cast of professional improvisers.

Coming out of the EuroBubble herself, Kelly started offering her knowledge and skills to various international institutions, NGOs and other companies. And so, the three pillars of ImrpoBubble were established: a school with an exemplary curriculum taught by gifted teachers; unforgettable shows with a stellar professional cast and game-changing corporate training for the workplace!

How we’re evolving | On becoming a birthplace & talent incubator for everything improv

In a few years, a lot has happened. We opened a venue in 2018 which, after 2,5 years we had to let go of due to the pandemic. But despite this bump in the road, ImproBubble has come out stronger and grown far beyond its humble 2017 beginnings:

Our network of visiting international improvisers, course teachers and students has grown exponentially (check out the team here). Many of our students and alumni have founded troupes of their own, even getting accepted to international festivals! We have also instituted an ‘Academy’ course for the most ambitious and dedicated improvisers who are looking to professionalise in the craft.

We couldn’t be more proud. So, what’s next? More of what works as well as some new projects: ‘ImproBubble Lab’ will provide budding and established directors to experiment with their own formats, our thematic courses for alumni and experienced students will keep growing, the tech side of improvisation (light, sound & music) will be given more and more attention. As we grow and evolve, we want to contribute to quality, not quantity, in the improvisational landscape- both in our city, and beyond!
