THE STARTING STEPS

These three courses will give you a comprehensive grounding in all things improv! In a fun and safe environment, we will take you from the basic principles of theatrical improvisation to performing fully fledged scenes on stage!

After completing all three starting steps (along with the perks and performance opportunities that go with them), you will be a well rounded improviser and start deciding for yourself what path you want to take next on your improv journey via our ImproBubbles curriculum.

If you already have some experience with improv, then you might be able to start at Step 2 or 3. If you are an intermediate or advanced student, you'll find the right class for you in our Bubbles courses. In 2022, we began our Academy courses for all those interested in taking on a challenge and professionalising their improv skills.

STEP 1 | INTRODUCTION

Our introductory course into the wonderful world of improvisation! No experience needed whatsoever.

STEP 2 | THE TOOLKIT

The next steps! We work on haracters and physicality, emotions, playing with space, object and activity work, discovering patterns and the ‘game’ of the scene.

STEP 3 | SCENES & FREEFORM

We now focus on refining these skills in the context of solidifying your scenework, as well as adding further layers … status dynamics and shifts, working on timing, scene focus, and developing platforms.
