In improv, you are not only actors/actresses, but you are also the authors and directors of the scenes you play. What a blast! We are using a lot of skills such as story-telling, listening to our partners, playing genres, etc. and sometimes, we are giving a lot of energy and attention to them, and less to our role of actress/actor.
In this workshop, you will specifically work on your acting skills. We will use scripted theatre techniques so that you can go deeper in your characters’ psychology, physicality, and embody them. Living their life, feeling their emotion, in drama and in comedy moments. We will feed your improv tool-box, as you will play and naturally react as your character, acting as your character.
You are an improviser, you are an actor/actress. Come and play!
What you’ll learn
Explore truthful scenes
embody new characters, in depth, acting and reacting in their shoes, not yours
create intense moments, of love, fun or drama
explore the power of non-verbal acting: through eyes' and physical contacts, the use of the space, the body posture
Who this is for
This is one of our Bubbles. These courses are intended for improvisers who already have an understanding of the basics, perhaps (but not necessarily) through our own Starting Steps courses and then have taken some other basic intermediate courses too, to have strong foundational skills. If you’re wondering which course is right for you, then feel free to email us.
This particular course is suitable for intermediate and advanced improvisers.
About the teacher
Peggy Pexy Green
Peggy is the Artistic Director of La compagnie qui pétille, based in Brussels, in which she has been creating and performing various original improv shows, like “The impossible to live with” with Joe Bill, "Secret Garden" with Mark Jane, “Mother and Daughter” and "Sensations". She also creates shows addressing society issues, like 'Rouge' on gender issues with a women-only cast, and ‘Freaks’ on the perception of differences and clichés, as she is strongly committed to human rights and equity in her life and in improv. In 2022, she published a “Guide for improvisers who want to change the world”, that can be downloaded on the website of La compagnie qui pétille (in French).

And she loves teaching improv, traveling from Brussels to Barcelona, Paris, Toulouse, Lyon, Rabat, Luxembourg, Nice...
And… She is a Cat Person.
