"There is no I in Improv."
Sometimes we love standing in the spotlight, sometimes we love being the main character and sometimes we love being the center of attention of stage. However what we love even more is being the one person everybody wants to play with.
In this workshop we will learn how to be the best supporting character, how to make sure you can make anyone else shine. We will learn how to be the ultimate gift giver on stage, how to lift up your fellow player and how to be a great assist.
Come join us on a journey where we make others feel the best version of themselves, learn more about how others see the world and maybe we find a new part of ourselves that will amaze us!
What you’ll learn
Extreme accepting
Letting go, giving out of hands
Better understanding other players
What makes a scene work better / move forward
Who this is for
This is one of our Bubbles. These courses are intended for improvisers who already have an understanding of the basics, perhaps (but not necessarily) through our own Starting Steps courses. If you’re wondering which course is right for you, then feel free to email us.
This particular course is suitable for both intermediate and advanced improvisers.
About the teacher
Vincent Van Nieuwenhuyze
Vincent is a professional improv teacher, player and coach from Ghent, Belgium. By day he’s kicking ass in the corporate world. By night, and sometimes even in the daytime, he’s playing improv. He has performed in over 8 troupes for over 12 years and has been teaching improv in Belgium and on the international improv circuit for over 7 years.
Some key elements to what Vincent brings to the scene are intimacy, warmth, safety, vocals and a tons of energy to surf on. Within the field of improv, he loves refreshing the basics and keeping the fun in the fundamentals. Throughout the last couple of years, Vincent has taken a deep dive into the topic of intimacy on stage as well on the topic of gender in improv and on stage. And what he doesn’t want you to forget is, “you be you!”.
