What you'll learn
Forum Theatre is a socio-political, interactive form of theatre created by Augusto Boal in which the spectators become “spect-actors”. They get the chance to change the events, and more importantly, outcome of a situation or story, not only through dialogue, but also through getting on stage and playing things differently. In this workshop, we’ll get introduced to Forum Theatre, how it works, and flirt with some of the basic skills required to get started in this revolutionary (literally) theatre format.
About the teacher
"Zaki Zikani is an Arab performer and workshop leader. Coming from an unstable environment, he loves to work at the edge of politics through his improv, socio-political theatre, and other performances; pushing the limits of the forbidden, jumping into risky areas, and redefining what should and should not be.
He has hundreds of Forum Theatre trainings and performances under his belt. Outside the Arab World, his international work extends to Canada, USA, Sweden, UK, and the Czech Republic."
