What you'll learn

"This workshop centers on the “inner judge” that sits on our shoulder and, while making a serious face, constantly tells us we aren’t smart, funny or original enough.

The purpose of this workshop is to help you learn how to handle your inner judge. Using highly practical tools, we will learn how to silence our inner judge when needed – and when it is important to pay attention to what they have to say.

This workshop will help you to get out of your head and be more free in your improv."

About the teacher

She has been improvising since 2005, performing with various groups all over Israel. Since 2015, she and her group LAMABATI have been performing with a unique long-form format that is inspired from the style and stories of the Israeli author Etgar Keret. Since 2014, she has been the artistic director of the improvised performance ‘Not Just for Actors’; – a show which takes audience participation to its limits. She was head judge at Israel’s 2015 National Improv Championship and is the winner of the Israeli improv championship – Royal Rumble 2015. She is the founder and director of “20,000 Words” – an improv performance and workshop that teaches and discusses Gender equality (2012).

Hila performs, teaches and coaches improv throughout Israel and internationally as a festival instructor, visiting teacher at schools and with private groups. She has taught in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Canada and more.

Hila is married and a mother to three children (including two adorable twins). She loves escape rooms, Moroccan cooking, crazy water park slides and detective dramas. She is a brown belt in Jujitsu, and her favorite animal is the sea turtle."
