Enter the wonderful world of Clown – you will never see things in the same way!

Clown is an invaluable skill for improvisers; it relies on true listening and reacting in the moment. The clown does not exist without an audience, and is totally present in front of them. Every performer – no, actually, every human, should try Clown at least once!

From the beginning of improv training, we learn to embrace our mistakes. The clown is FUELLED by mistakes – the more of them, the better! Clowns embody the improv adage that things going wrong can actually be a great gift.

In this masterclass, you will take your first clown steps and get a taste of what Clown can be. Join Hille for a wholesome 3 hours full of massive organised chaos. Warning: you might fall in love with this seriously silly form of theatre!

This workshop is for anyone with curiosity and enthusiasm to learn – you do not need previous theatre experience to join.

About Hille Auvinen

Hille is a Finn, born and raised in Brussels. She trained on the Acting and Contemporary Theatre course at East 15 Acting School in the UK. Her approach to theatre is very physical and visual, and her areas of both passion and expertise are physical theatre, puppetry, children's theatre and clown.

Since she has recently dived into the world of improvisation, she has also found a whole new world of possibilities within naturalistic acting and the power of true listening, and fallen in love with dramatic longform improv. Hille performs in ImproBubble's improvised murder mystery Get a Clue.

Always eager to experiment with merging different forms of art and theatre, Hille wants to create theatre that has joy of life, is surprising, comforting - perhaps an escape from reality, but also a medium to communicate about important subjects and current matters, with or without words; a common breath between the audience and the piece.

Hille's own personality is not too far from her clown characters': you’ll probably see her in dungarees, doing a little boogie!
