Improvisational theatre is generally known for being fast paced, with explosive energy and spontaneous twist of events.
But improv can also be more grounded, more truthful, full of unexpected emotions that can change you and your audience. Dramatic improvisation, or ‘slowprov’ is a way to playing improvisation in which you learn to take your time on stage, to truly be in the moment with your partners, to discover the joy of silences and to trust the instincts that come out of pure emotion and gradual discovery.
Join Rozana Radu for 8 weeks in which she will merge theatre techniques from her drama school past and blend them with improvisation to take you out of your usual improv ‘speed’ and introduce you to the delightful world of slowprov! Along the way, you will learn not only to perform more grounded, truthful, vulnerable scenes- you will develop unique, fearless new ways to play in what will be your expanded new comfort zone.
The cherry on top of this slowly baked cake will be an end-of-course performance!
What you'll learn
How to shift improv gears
How to allow organic changes instead of 'pushing' for something to happen
how to notice every little thing that is said and not said, acted or not acted upon
how to truly stay in the moment, being able to focus without stress
